SO WHAT EVEN IS FUTURE FURNISHINGS?
Future Furnishings is a partnership project between the School of Art and Creative Technologies at University of Bolton, Bolton Council and Bolton at Home with the aim of developing sustainable communities.
The project involves a series of collaborative design and making workshops using textile waste and identifying ways that a products life can be extended. It is developing new ways for local organisations to work with local residents to reuse and repurpose household items in collaboration with design students at University of Bolton.

The project aims to address social, economic and environmental sustainability with the help of residents and organisations in the town through workshops and events around material consumption. Central to this will be developing knowledge and skills that aim to address inequalities in society through sustainable living.
